Change is a part of life and I recently came acrosse a beautiful poem that I felt inclined to share. Brianna Wiest writes in her book The Mountain Is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage Into Self-Mastery.
“Your new life is going to cost you your old one.
It's going to cost you your comfort zone and your sense of direction.
It's going to cost you relationships and friends.
Its going to cost you being liked and understood.
It does not matter.
The people who are meant for you are going to meet you on the other side.
You're gonna build a new comfort zone around things that move you forward.
Instead of being liked, you will be loved.
Instead of being understood, you will be seen.
All you're going to lose is what was built for a person you no longer are.
Many people say that you have to love yourself first, before you can love others.
When in reality if you learn to love others you will love yourself.
The point of healing is not to return to a place where everything is perfect.
Instead it is to begin to develop the ability to respond to what is imperfect”
-Brianna Wiest
Be the change you want to see in the world.
